Connecting Business with Science on the Great Barrier Reef
Now well established, the Chairman’s Panel was designed to build support for both the Foundation and the Great Barrier Reef with the Chief Executives and Chairs of large Australian companies.
 While it provides a revenue stream for the Foundation, the experience which the Chairman’s Panel offers each of its members - to visit the Reef, learn about its complexity, the threats it confronts and how Australian science is responding - has proven to be a great deal more than this. Sharing what we know about the Reef in a structured program of lectures and events is one way in which the Foundation can raise awareness of its fragility and build a network of advocates in Australian business for the preservation of our iconic coral reefs. This is all the more important as the threat which climate change in particular presents to the Reef becomes more pressing.
