Ambassador Experiences

“Complete support from the ground safety and environment team helped confirm the scope for rainwater harvesting and capital support. The greater understanding and learning made me appreciate the importance of waste and looking for efficiency with energy consumption. Excellent. Really enjoyable. Great bunch of people.”

Andrew Bartlett -  Manager of Aircraft Planning, Qantas Airways

ZooX Ambassador September 2010“Experiential learning far outstrips classroom learning—how do we now take every person in KPMG through ZAP! The pace of the program was spot on—a great mix of speakers/snorkelling etc, that didn’t feel rushed... the experience was relaxed yet packed with information.”

Catherine Hunter -  Director, Corporate Citizenship, KPMG Sydney
ZooX Ambassador October 2010

"I felt empowered that I can actively make a difference under the ZooX Program. I am passionate about implementing my projects and excited about reporting back once delivered"

Caroline Kovats - Senior Business Analyst, Telstra Country Wide

“Through conversations and time spent with the Faculty I was provided with real clarity around the issues, why things are occurring as they are, and the quantifiable difference some basic changes can make. My commitment and drive to reverse global warming, zoning areas and sustainability has now been firmly cemented. Support throughout the program was overwhelming and created a contagious energy.  I have learnt so much, been inspired and been given a refocus on what is really important—thank you! This experience will have an impact on me for a long time to come.”

Jane Moss, Acting VP - Health Safety and Environment, BMA, BHP Billiton

Jacqueline Taylor a consultant from Energetics shares her ZAP experience:

"There are people from all corners of the corporate world (and other sectors) that care deeply about our environment, and are keen to do whatever they can to limit climate change. Also, this project is a little less daunting and a lot more fun with the support of a group.
The field manual is an excellent resource before, during and after the Field Trip. I enjoyed the challenge of making a microvideo. I think the ZAP Faculty is an outstanding group of people. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and ideas, for your interest in us and our projects, for your humour and care of us. And thank you so much for this intense, stimulating, challenging, beautiful, fun and faraway experience."

“We were treated to some very inquisitive questioning from staff, who were keen to know more about the issues facing the Reef and its long term future. Our Project has been met with great enthusiasm and our team has been quick to agree that it is an innovative idea that will help us impact a much larger carbon footprint that an internal project- that of our customers.”

Robert Sims,

"I now feel much more confident of my knowledge of climate change and its effects on out local environment. I will make further changes to my life style to reduce emissions and will engage my colleagues and friends to do likewise. The experience as a whole was very well organised and the presentations were effective and well put together."

Tim Gigg
Senior Consultant
Energetics
ZooX Ambassador 2008

"The program was a real eye opener for me, I thought I was already doing plenty to reduce my carbon footprint but I now realise there is obviously much more needed to do. The Faculty on the trip were amazingly supportive and made everyone feel that they can make a difference. The activities on the reef meant that we all had first hand experience and made us more aware of the fragility of the reef rather then just viewing it on video footage. We all need to look at each aspect of out lives and make changes now."
